What is Hemp CBD? Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound found in the Cannabis Sativa L. plant. CBD has been found to have a multitude of health benefits and is becoming increasingly popular in the health field.
There are two species of the cannabis plant: hemp and marijuana. Hemp is very high in CBD and low in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is a cannabinoid that produces a “high” or “stoned” effect. Marijuana is low in CBD and high in THC. Unlike marijuana, hemp CBD has significant health benefits without the psychoactive side effects.
Hemp is also 50 state legal, whereas marijuana is only legal in states where marijuana is legalized or requires a green card. Our CBD products are derived from hemp, not marijuana. There can be a lot of confusion as to what the difference is when describing CBD. Cannabis is the most common term used when describing CBD. To clarify, cannabis is the species under which hemp and marijuana fall under. Hemp is not the same as marijuana. Marijuana oil is used to relieve nausea, pain, and anxiety, but is only legal with a green card and limited to certain states where marijuana is legal. It has high amounts of THC, which can give you psychoactive side effects. It also does not contain the full benefits that CBD Hemp has to offer. Another confusing term you may hear is “hemp oil”. Hemp CBD is different from Hemp oil. Hemp CBD contains over 60+ compounds of different types of CBD which benefits our health. It is derived from the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the plant. Hemp seed oil is derived from only the seeds of the plant, which does not contain CBD. Hemp seed oil is high in Omegas and fatty acids. It is good for cooking, used in lotions, or used as an additive to various supplements. It does not contain the health benefits that Hemp CBD oil contains. In addition, all CBD oil is not the made the same. There are many different processes to extract CBD oil. At Z’s Dream, we only use the best form of extraction, which is the CO2 process, followed by the winterization process. This process allows the CBD oil to stay in its purest state possible and removes extra impurities, which magnifies the health benefits it provides. Other types of extractions can dilute the oil, which lessens the effect of the oil and you receive a lower dose of CBD than what is advertised. Furthermore, there are different types of CBD such as full spectrum or isolate. Full spectrum CBD has more health benefits vs CBD Isolate. Isolates do not contain any THC but has less health benefits. Full- spectrum CBD has a small amount of THC (less than 0.3%), which is legal, but provides more health benefits. Our CBD oil measures at 0.17%, which is even less than the average Hemp CBD oil. Our Hemp CBD oil is Full-spectrum, so it provides our customers with the ultimate health benefits when using CBD.
How does Hemp CBD oil work? The body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that receives and translates signals it receives from cannabinoids in the body. The body produces some cannabinoids on its own, called endocannabinoids. The ECS helps regulate functions such as eating, sleeping, relaxing, inflammation responses, cognitive function, and overall homeostasis. CBD works by inhibiting the fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) enzyme, which increases the levels of the endocannabinoids produced by the body. This process triggers the therapeutic effects CBD has to regulate our health. It balances our body’s general state of health such as our tissues, heart, digestive, endocrine, immune, nervous, and reproductive systems. This dietary supplement is the future of health care and can help improve numerous health conditions.
